Dwell Magazine Arrives—Inspiration Increases 83%

On Friday, Dwell Magazine hit our doormat. Happy days! At home in the modern world indeed—Dwell covers not only the people and places behind modern architectural design, but all aspects of modern design, from commercial buildings to private homes to furniture, landscaping and more, with a focus on green living and sustainability. Think Mother Earth meets Eero Saarinen.

Dwell’s arrival is always a monthly shot of inspiration. We voyeuristically love seeing how others are living in cool, hip and simplistic spaces. Who wouldn’t be inspired to see the latest ergonomic, problem-solving, uber-cool new products?

Does our inspiration level really jump 83% each month? At least. The rush of creative energy is surely impressive. That creative energy then funnels into inspired solutions for our clients.

In a classic example of happy coincidence, the July issue features Beach Houses We Love. We were just heading south to our beach house on Anna Maria Island for Memorial Day weekend.

It’s important to keep in mind that good design and inspiration is all around you. Sometimes it arrives by mail in the form of a matte finished design magazine. Sometimes it’s the view from the beach at sunset or the tiki bar.  Sometimes it’s a much loved teacup from Anthropologie. And sometimes it’s a walk in the wilds of your local state park, like nearby Aldermans Ford Park.

Inspiration is all around you. You just have to keep your eyes open for it.

What inspires you?
